I started as an apprentice developer and grew into a staff role over 13 years, working mostly in Ruby on Rails and React. Today I focus on developer experience: the tools and workflows Planning Center's engineers use every day.

Led product and was the only mobile and web developer, building the React and React Native apps on GraphQL and AWS Amplify.

Maintained the Java applications used for data mining and wrote Python scripts to load large data sets for machine learning analysis.
I'm Tanner. I've been writing software for over a decade, mostly in Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native.
My day job is developer experience at Planning Center. The rest of my time goes to Vassant, where I'm co-founder and CTO, and to my own apps, which I design, build, and ship myself.
I like mentoring developers, getting the details of a workflow right, and making things people enjoy opening. Sometimes I stream on Twitch and YouTube.
